Vandale13
Vandale13 was founded in 2019 by Maëva Weissen, an award-winning artist and project manager based between Geneva and Stockholm. Shortly after finishing the Fashion Bachelor Course at Haute Ecole d'Art et de Design, she launched her first collection, “1213 or the Manifest of a Third Culture,” which was awarded the prestigious Prize of Humanity by the Red Cross and the HEAD in October 2020.
Celebrating the richness of working-class multicultural tower block suburbs, she works exclusively with upcycled football and sports clothing. Built upon an aesthetic of unapologetic, bold political statements, the brand creates narratives to address issues and generate new representations while simultaneously questioning class contempt, anti-capitalism, and decolonialism through upcycling.
In addition to her artistic practice, Maëva conducts social and artistic work with adolescents. She has collaborated with the Multicultural Centre in Stockholm, the Alliance Française in Madrid, the ASPAS association in Madrid, and with Odyssee13, an association she co-founded with three other socio-cultural actors.
