6 for 6

Catalina Negara

Catalina Negara is a London-based upcycling designer, art director, and stylist from Moldova, creating one-of-a-kind garments and accessories that extend into a larger visual world. Her practice is rooted in transformation, reconstructing discarded materials into pieces that feel instinctive, tactile, and deliberately undone.

After a decade working as a floral designer, she is now shifting her practice into the fashion landscape, carrying with her a deep understanding of sculptural structure. Years spent shaping and composing floral arrangements continue to inform her approach; organic structures translate into silhouette, and colour is treated as something instinctive rather than decorative.

Her work is driven by an obsession with shape, contrast, and visual rhythm, as well as the movement of the body. Pieces are designed to respond to motion; to shift, distort, and come alive when worn. Nothing is fixed; everything is reworked, layered, and pushed until it feels alive.

Alongside garments, Catalina is focusing on accessories, treating them as the final, decisive element of a look. Not an addition, but a resolution; the piece that completes the puzzle, or quietly disrupts it.
